Temperatures Reached Triple-digit In Southern California

Snowmelt runoff increasing in the Eastern Sierra once again with cold, fast-moving creeks and rivers.

Preparedness Actions:

Drink plenty of water

Limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day (11 AM-6 PM)

Wear light, loose-fitting clothing and sunscreen

DAILY FUELS/FIRE POTENTIAL:

Hot and dry conditions will continue to bring an elevated risk for large fire away from the deserts, higher mountains, and coast through next weekend. Fuel moisture in both the live and dead fuels will decrease significantly over the next week due to the extended hot and dry period. Extreme fire behavior will be possible on any new ignition during the afternoon hours over the next week. Expect moderate initial attack activity across the region through next weekend
