A low pressure system developing over the interior western states will bring stronger onshore flow with periods of gusty west winds in the mountains and deserts…deepening of the marine layer…and a cooling trend through Tuesday. This will be followed by a warming trend into next weekend with lower inland humidites for the latter part of the week with occasional gusty northeast winds near the coastal foothills on Friday and Saturday.  

Breezy and cooler this weekend*** Northwesterly flow aloft will increase the next few days as a deep trough develops over the Northern Rockies and Great Basin. While any precipitation associated with this system will remain well north of the area, cooler air will spill into the area behind this system. High temperatures this weekend will be 5-10 degrees cooler with valley highs easing back into the 80s Saturday and Sunday. A low pressure area may drop into Central California early next week, resulting in even cooler weather. By Monday and Tuesday, highs in the San Joaquin Valley may only reach the lower to mid 70s. Winds should be light early next week. The trough will depart the region next Wednesday, leading to sunny, warmer weather with less marine layer coverage. Minimum RH will drop into the 10-15% range today, but should stay above 20% over most areas Saturday and beyond.
