Triple Digit Hot and Dry as Wild Fires Burn in Santa Clarita So Cal
***Hot and dry today***
***Cooling trend beginning Monday***
Low humidities and gusty southwest to west winds on the desert
slopes of the mountains for Monday afternoon through Tuesday
evening…
High pressure aloft will continue the hot dry weather for inland
areas today with the marine layer keeping coastal areas cooler
with higher humidities. Beginning Monday…high pressure aloft
will weaken as low pressure systems move inland along the West
Coast to the north. This will bring deepening of the marine layer
for Tuesday and Wednesday with cooling spreading inland for Monday
through Wednesday. Stronger onshore flow will bring gusty west
winds to the mountains and deserts during the late afternoon
through late evening each day. The combination of low humidities
and strong gusty southwest to west winds will increase the fire
potential along the desert slopes of the mountains into adjacent
desert areas for Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening. Minor day
to day temperature changes are then expected for Thursday into next
weekend with the marine layer becoming a little shallower.
