Strengthening high pressure aloft over California will bring significant warming to the region through Monday, with record heat Monday and Tuesday. Maximum temperatures will be in the mid 60s to mid 70s across the mountains, mid 70s to mid 80s in the Central California valleys, and upper 80s and 90s in the Southern California valleys today. On Monday and Tuesday, maximum temperatures will be in the 70s to low 80s across the mountains, 80s to mid 90s in the Central California valleys, and upper 90s to 105 in the Southern California valleys. There will be local offshore winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 35 mph across Southern California today and then offshore winds will increase to 15 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph and become more widespread across Southern California Monday morning through Tuesday afternoon.
