Temps Above Average Today for Inland So Cal
The cutoff low pressure area which brought cool weather to the region is lifting northeastward which will be replaced by high pressure aloft and offshore pressure gradients. This will lead to a strong warming trend through Saturday. Today, highs will be 10-15 degrees warmer across the valleys and lower foothills with 80s common across Southern California. By Friday and Saturday, highs will be close to the 100 degree mark over much of interior Southern California below 3,000 feet. Minimum RH will fall into the 7-12% range by Friday afternoon with poor RH recovery expected Friday night. Northeast winds of 15-25 mph with gusts to 40 mph will be possible through the passes and canyons of Southern California. At this time, the strongest winds look to occur over Ventura and Northern Los Angeles County on Friday. The offshore winds will likely continue into Saturday morning, but wind speeds should be a bit weaker. Onshore flow should bring cooler weather Sunday into Monday. Warmer weather looks to return next Tuesday along with light offshore flow. No precipitation is expected through the period.
