Low Humidity and Gusty Winds Impede Containment of Fire in So Cal
***Local offshore winds this morning***
***Warmer and drier Thursday and Friday, then cooler for the weekend***
A low pressure area which has been stationary over the Southwest will lift out of the area, bringing a slow end to the offshore winds. Early this morning, light offshore winds of 10-20 mph are occurring, mainly over northern Los Angeles County. In the vicinity of the Canyon Fire, Fremont Canyon currently has northeast winds in the 8-12 mph range with only light winds reported elsewhere in northern Orange County. However, RH recovery was poor over these area with readings only in the teens as of 6 am. Expect northeast winds to remain in the 10-20 mph range over Northern Los Angeles and Orange County this morning before weakening this afternoon. Temperatures today will be a bit cooler this afternoon with most coastal and valley areas remaining in the 80s. Thursday and Friday, a ridge will rebuild over the area and Southern California will likely see valley readings return to the lower to mid 90s.

Leon, scary times when the Santa Ana winds whip those wild fires out of control. From here, way over on the other side of the states, sometimes it seems as if your whole state is on fire. I know that isn’t true, but boy…when a couple of them start blazing and we see those frightening scenes of people blocked off from x-ways because the fire is racing over it…not good.
Stay safe.
