FLASH FLOOD POTENTIAL INDEX FOR EXTREME SOUTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA

A weak monsoonal flow will produce a few isolated thunderstorms

in the mountains this weekend. The showers and thunderstorms may

become more widespread early next week as the flow increases. The

best chance for heavy rainfall will be near the mountains

The atmosphere will be fairly moist and unstable Flash Flood Codes:  GREEN: NONE    YELLOW: LOW   ORANGE: MODERATE  RED: HIGH NWS LAS VEGAS 

through the week leading to isolated to scattered thunderstorms.
The best thunderstorm chances will mainly be along and southeast of
Interstate 15. The main exception will be a decent chance of
showers and thunderstorms over the Spring Mountains and Sheep Range.
Storms will have the potential to produce heavy rain during this
period. High pressure developing over northern Nevada may suppress
thunderstorm activity over Lincoln, Nye and Esmeralda Counties
